Recently, we went home for a friends wedding and had just enough time to visit with family members. Because we live a few hours a way, our baby girl doesn’t get to interact with her extended family. Here is a picture taken at her great grandmothers house playing with grandpa and great grandma.
Endless Hall
Even though I didn’t have much time to take pictures on my San Diego trip, I feel like I captured some good ones. Here is another picture from Balboa Park. I really wish I could go back, the architecture as I mentioned before was spectacular.

Our Future @ 5 months
Our baby girl continues to cooperate when taking her picture on the couch. I’m thinking her 6 or 7 month picture will have her sitting up.
Wow has she grown!!!
P.S. I’m using a new slideshow viewer, it should start automatically. You can hover your mouse over the image and can go back or enlarge it.
Here he comes
When you’re walking around big cities you will often come across some unusual and sometimes strange people. When we started our photo walk with Steve Huff we were walking in the rain and the temperature was in the mid 50’s. As we came around a corner there was a man walking in the street in only tennis shoes, shorts, and tight t-shirt. I quickly took a picture which was obviously underexposed. Personally, I think the shot worked well, it gave the subject an interesting and somewhat scary look.
Nice Hat!
I like seeing interesting people. As I was walking around Chicago, I came across this gentlemen with an interesting hat. Mostly, I liked the contrast between his hair and the hat. The umbrella and his companion added a little extra to the shot.
A lot to look forward to
I was amazed a few weeks ago when I was in Chicago of how many weddings were going on on Michigan Avenue. I suppose it would be a great place to tie the knot. We came across this bride and groom who were getting their picture taken. I had my Leica 28mm summicron and snapped this picture. I really like the wide angle here. It gives you a sense of how large the occasion was.
I want that perfect shot!
I always find it funny when you see photographers trying to position themselves for the best shot. You will often find us laying on the ground, bent over, turned side ways, etc… This person was trying to take a picture of what appeared to be his girlfriend. I love the way he squats to try to get the camera right at eye level.
New Beginning
This weekend, my wife, our baby girl, and I drove back to our home town for a friends wedding. It had been many years since I had seen or spoke to him. I was glad to see after all these years, that he has succeeded with his career and found that someone special to spend the rest of his life with.
While watching the ceremony I reminisced the great times we had growing up and I’m happy that things have turned out well for him and his family.
Need a ride?
As I was walking with my friend Elijah in San Diego, I decided to stop in the middle of the street and take a picture of the on coming traffic. At night, the car lights can add an additional dimension to the scene and in this shot it gives you a sense that they are coming at you (technically they were) but in reality I was safe because of the light.
Our Future @ 4 months
Our baby girl is 1 week away from 5 months! I won’t lie, there have been some tough nights, but overall it has been a thrilling experience. Both my wife and I absolutely love her and could not have asked for a more beautiful daughter.
Continuing with my series “Our Future”, this was taken at 4 months. She still cooperates when taking the picture (I think I took maybe 5 total pics to get this one) and I’m still amazed each time I sit down to compare the pictures from month to month. I can’t imagine what she is going to look at at 1 year!
