We were walking through the crowd at the Taste of Madison and out of the corner of my eye I caught these two enjoying time together. I’m not sure what was stranger, seeing these two showing affection for one another at a family friendly event or that they were lying next to a porta-potty?

Here is a perfect example of how you can break the rule in photography that says that your subject shouldn’t be in the middle of your picture. The use of my wifes arm and body allowed for an excellent “framing” of my subject, my beautiful baby girl.

This past weekend we went back home for a birthday party. One evening, I was out searching for photo opportunities and as we were heading back home we came across a cemetery. It was almost “pitch black” by then and thought I would try to catch a few hand-held shots with my Leica M9 and 50mm noctilux. Even though this picture is dark, I really like the silhouette and the mood that it sets.

We were walking down Michigan Avenue and I decided to walk behind to catch a few candid pics of my baby girl. I think she was a little sleep deprived and was acting a little crazy. She kept waiving at me but everyone around me didn’t realize I was her father, thus they thought she was waiving at them.

Another great place to visit at Millennium Park is Crown Fountain. If you haven’t visited, it’s 2 large video sculptures that periodically spray water. In the summer time, it’s typically full of kids playing and cooling off.
