I didn’t just take pics of the “The Bean” with my Olympus OM-D, I also shot with my Leica M9-P and 21mm super elmar.
This shot is not a HDR and was shot handheld. The shot is slightly cropped so that I could remove my self from the picture. I was attempting to get the original sky and the reflected sky to blend.

Coming up with new photo ideas (compositions) can often times be a challenge. Probably my biggest recommendation is take as many pictures as you possibly can. By doing this, you will begin to understand your cameras mechanics and will get better at composing your shot.
I took this last fall. I found this old barn and really liked it’s architecture. I typically don’t take pictures of “No Parking” signs but I liked this one.
Over the next few weeks you will see a lot of pictures I took in Chicago. We always enjoy spending time there and is probably my favorite city to visit.
One morning, I drove to Alder’s Planetarium. The planetarium is a great place to capture pictures of the city. I shot a variety of pictures with my Olympus OM-D and Leica M9. I think I got every lens I had out of the bag. This one was taken with my Leica 50mm noctilux. Actually, this is 4-5 pictures stitched together to create a panoramic shot. I used Photoshop, Nik Software HDR Efex 2 (this is not a HDR), and Silver Efex 2.

It’s been a crazy past few weeks. Traveling from Indiana to Iowa and then to Wisconsin and then back to Indiana in 4 days started the craziness. Work has been incredibly busy and to finish everything off, I’m sitting in a hotel room in Chicago taking my surgical boards. Starting next week, I’ll be able to relax (at least I hope I can).
I’m not much of an abstract shooter but for some reason I really like geometric shapes. This shot was actually taken of an old bathroom floor in a restaurant/bar I was at in Wisconsin.
P.S. After 6 months of patiently waiting, I had a Leica 35mm summilux delivered a few days ago and look forward to posting some pics in the next few weeks.

The one thing I really enjoy about my Leica M9 is the ability to shoot without a flash in low light. This is only possible because I can shoot at very low apertures (i.e. f/1.4 or f/2.0). The only down side with the Leica M9 is its poor high ISO if shooting in color.
This picture of my nephew was taken only with light from a few lanterns and street lights.
I’ve been busy the past few days and have not had the opportunity to update my blog. Hopefully, I’ll have more time this weekend.
There’s nothing special about this image and I’ve on a few occasions almost deleted it. For some reason though, I seem to be drawn to it, always looking for something interesting. I suppose all the lines, circles, and symmetry must have something to do with it?

I took this shot almost a year ago during my baby girls baptism. It was an older church with poor lighting. I was using my Leica 35mm summicron at f2.0. The ISO had to be bumped up for the shot and the noise created gives it character, especially in black and white.
